Position Overview

The Community Investment Manager helps grow and steward CTFB’s sustained giving and mid-level giving programs. The concept of Community Investment extends beyond traditional donor relations, embodying a deeper commitment to nurturing lasting partnerships with our donors. The Community Investment Manager plays a pivotal role in this visionary approach, developing and implementing strategies that not only grow but also deeply value and steward CTFB 's sustained giving and mid-level giving programs. This role recognizes that every contribution is an investment in our community's well-being, with each donor joining us to help end hunger among our Central Texas neighbors. As an integral member of our fundraising team, the Community Investment Manager shares the impactful stories of individuals and families we serve, aiming to enhance engagement and foster a sense of shared purpose with our key sustained and mid-level donors. This position oversees a dedicated team of two staff members focused on implementing our strategic vision through direct donor stewardship and exceptional customer service.

Relationships
The Community Investment Manager reports directly to the Director of Community Investment and works in close collaboration with members of the Resource Development and Communications departments as well as external partners to implement strategies. The Community Investment Manager also builds personal relationships with sustaining and mid-level donors in the community.

Requirements - Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of fundraising experience in a full-time, wage-earning role in a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience supervising regular full-time paid staff, including effective training, supervision and delegation to others
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Possess a high level of integrity; able to handle information in an appropriate, confidential, and helpful manner
  • Superior organization skills, enthusiasm about working in collaboration with others, and strong interpersonal skills to manage information, relationships, and activities within competing project deadlines across multiple teams
  • Ability to develop long-term plans, set objectives, and track progress towards achieving objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and a high level of comfort with other digital tools and online search databases
  • Experience using constituent relationship management or fundraising databases; Raiser’s Edge preferred
  • Belief in CTFB’s mission, vision, values and culture
  • Display a willingness and desire to work with people from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic and religious backgrounds
  • Display a commitment to service above all else


Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive donor engagement strategies, encompassing individual donors from the CTFB’s Sustainers Circle/Monthly Giving and mid-level giving programs. This includes overseeing direct mail campaigns and stewardship activities to enhance donor retention and elevate giving levels.
  • Directly manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and high-value monthly donors, ensuring personalized engagement and stewardship strategies are in place to cultivate long-term relationships.
  • Implement best practices in donor relations to ensure outstanding customer service and donor experience.
  • Act as a key representative of CTFB, conducting donor tours and visits to promote the organization’s mission and impact.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train the Community Investment Coordinators and help them meet individual workplan and professional development goals.
  • Develop a high-performance team culture focused on leadership and accountability at all levels, continuous learning, collaboration, measurement, and goal achievement by modeling the way and enabling others to act.
  • Set performance goals for team members that align to CTFB’s strategy and evaluate performance against goals on a regular basis.
  • Effectively coach team members and provide supportive and developmental feedback to enhance performance. Ensure that team members develop the technical, leadership and professional skills necessary for success.
  • Actively support organization’s values, goals and objectives by leading by example
  • Demonstrate support of organizational message without blaming other departments, leaders or providing personal opinions.

Summary - Working Conditions

Hours of Operation: Core hours of 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday with hybrid work schedule. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. When irregular hours are required, flex time is encouraged to keep the total number of work hours per week at 40, provided work objectives are met.

Environment: Mostly sitting, computer and phone work.

Travel: CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires same-day travel between counties using a personal vehicle or CTFB passenger fleet, and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, special events or meeting for some positions.
