Under the supervision of the Facilities and Fleet Supervisor – East Texas (Supervisor), the Facilities and Fleet Technician 2 (Tech 2) is primarily responsible for ensuring proper functioning of blood center vehicles and building equipment. The Tech 2 must be able to perform work of a fairly routine nature, requiring a reasonable amount of judgment in performing daily preventative maintenance, upkeep and repair of Carter BloodCare properties, fleet and equipment. This position is required to interact with all blood center departments and vendors. The Tech 2 is also required to have, and maintain, a CDL and is subject to “on-call” duties.

Regular full-time attendance is required during office hours.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of one year of building maintenance experience

  • 1-2 years of vehicle maintenance experience, preferred

  • General mechanical background, preferred

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of the use of industry-related tools and equipment

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • Basic electrical/mechanical knowledge

  • Basic sheetrock repair, painting; minor carpentry, preferred

  • Must maintain a valid Texas driver’s license; Commercial driver’s license is required

  • Must maintain driving record within acceptable limits, set by Carter BloodCare’s (CBC) Vehicle Loss Control standards
