6) --- JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

 

The ideal person for this position has a proven desire to learn Human Resources. To be a competent HR intern for the State Fair of Texas, you should be patient and compassionate, have excellent listening skills, and be able to multitask effectively this position will be a great opportunity to learn from seasoned staff. You will learn on the job by supporting various functions of the Human Resources department, including applicant tracking systems, Human Resources Information Systems, Interviewing, assisting with training, monitoring timesheets, assisting with payroll, and filing employee information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain data in our HRIS system (UKG)  
  • Prescreen applicants by using our applicant tracking system, schedule interviews 
  • Assist with individual and group interviews  
  • Initiate background checks, assist with onboarding paperwork, answer any questions employees might have.  
  • Issue out uniforms and company badges 
  • Assist with orientation classes 
  • Ensure professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the role. 
  • Assisting with employee giveaways to support our mission and culture

Requirements

• Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field required 
• Strong ability to multitask and remain calm in emergencies  
• Superb conflict resolution skills 
• Ability to display integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times  
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software  
• Proficient with current technology.
